2025 Series Overview

The 2025 Illinois Roundnet Series will feature 4 tournaments across the state. We are excited to be partnering with multiple national organizations for some of our tournaments. We will also be running our 3rd state championship to conclude the series. These events are meant to be for players of all experience levels. Our goal for the series is to offer fun events for all participants and promote the sport of roundnet throughout the state of Illinois.

Outside of the series, this will be the inaugural season of the PRO League that officially kicks off in August. This is an amazing project started by the American Spikers League to try and professionalize the sport in a squad format. There will be a preseason friendly in Mundelein to serve as a preview to the league.

Equipment

We are excited to continue our partnership with Premier Spike as the official roundnet equipment supplier of our tournament series. Premier Spike sets are significantly more sturdy which means far less adjusting the net after serves and hits. They are also far less likely to have any rims break. This year, we will transition to using Premier Spike’s bigger balls. These allow for defense to be more feasible and needs serving a bit too. This will allow for more enjoyable game play.

Team Illinois

The best Illinois based players will have the opportunity to qualify for Team Illinois during the tournament series. Team Illinois serves as an “elite” group that can earn exclusive merch and other perks. The tournaments in our series are where players can earn points towards the Team Illinois standings. The 10 men’s players and 2 women’s players who finish with the highest cumulative point totals will make Team Illinois. Points will be rewarded based on a player’s finish in the top designated division(s) at an event.
